An RBC Ministries international colleague shared with me her delight in serving as a translator of biblical resources. She said that she feels greatly blessed because she has the first opportunity to be ministered to by the teaching of God’s Word in the materials. As she works through them, she notes, “There is always something that addresses a need I’m facing.” Precisely when she needs encouragement from her Lord, relevant biblical help is provided.
As she spoke, I thought of how our God faithfully cares for us in numerous ways. In the different seasons of life, we find ourselves facing all sorts of challenges—but we do not face them on our own. As Christ said, “Your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him” (Matt. 6:8).
In our time of need—whether spiritual, emotional, or physical—we can depend on the faithful care and concern of the Father. He knows us so well that He chooses the perfect time to give us what is best and to send reassurance of His care. “Not one [sparrow] is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear . . . ; you are of more value than many sparrows” (Luke 12:6-7).
We can trust the wisdom of His love.
Kingdom Value 1
The values of the kingdom that Jesus came to establish were radically different than those of His day. The Pharisees and teachers of the law clamored for the spotlight and sought the adulation of the crowds. Many of us still do this today.
In Luke 14, Jesus told a parable that taught His followers not to be like that. The parable talks about people who chose the most honored seat for themselves at a wedding feast (vv.7-8). He said they would be embarrassed when the host asked them publicly to take their rightful place (v.9). Jesus went on in His story to talk about whom to invite to such dinners. He said they shouldn’t invite friends and family, but “when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you” (vv.13-14).
Disappointed because you have not broken into the more elite group in your church or neighborhood? Stuck down on rung two when you’d rather be on rung eight or at least climbing the social ladder? Listen to what Jesus said: “Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted” (v.11). That’s the radical and upside-down way of God’s kingdom!
Faith—we all wish we had more of it, especially when facing mountainous problems. Yet most of us are well practiced in faith. We sit down in chairs without checking them out; we use microwave ovens without analyzing how they work; we put keys in doors and expect them to open. We don’t go around moaning, “If only I had more faith in chairs, in microwaves, in keys.” We depend on these objects because we see them as reliable—not because we’ve worked up great feelings of confidence.
Jesus didn’t say to His disciples, “Have more faith in God.” He simply said, “Have faith in God” (Mk. 11:22).
Bible teacher Stuart Briscoe writes, “Faith is only as valid as its object. You could have tremendous faith in very thin ice and drown
. . . . You could have very little faith in very thick ice and be perfectly secure.”
Many Christians have faith in faith rather than faith in God. When facing trials, they agonize to attain mountain-size faith. But Jesus taught that faith the size of a mustard seed is sufficient, if planted in the soil of God’s greatness.
What is your mountain today? As soon as you plant your mustard seed of faith in God, your mountain becomes His responsibility—and you can rest in His faithfulness.
Have faith in God, the sun will shine,
Though dark the clouds may be today;
His heart has planned your path and mine,
Have faith in God, have faith alway. —Agnew
Have faith in God—not faith in faith.

Seven last words of Jesus (with 3d words)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMzmQRqNgL4&feature=related
(1) Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do . And they parted his raiment, and cast lots (Luke 23:34).
The soldiers oblivious to the suffering of an innocent God/Man are focused on the material gain of the situation. How many are oblivious to the sufferings of the unborn child who endures that abortion, because material things are the priority? The souls of these children cry out. Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Let us pray for all expectant Mothers and the Fathers, that they recognize the value of a human life from conception to natural death. Lord of Life, forgive our world for this great sin, that destroys a child, made in the image and likeness of You.
(2) And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today thou shalt be with me in paradise (Luke 23:43).
The repentant thief was rewarded with the promise of paradise. Let us pray that all of those involved in abortions, seek the healing and forgiveness that awaits them, in the infinite Merciful Heart of Jesus, so that they too may share in that same paradise and proclaim for all eternity, His profound mercy.
(3) When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son ! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother ! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home (John 19:26-27).
Jesus is giving us the gift of His Mother. Let us pray, in union with our heavenly Mother, for protection of the unborn, so hidden and vulnerable. Through the intercession of all those who were denied life here, yet reign with You Lord, shower us with the waters of your grace to be open to life and to commit to protecting each child in the womb, with the same zeal that your Mother protected you. We thank you Lord for the gift of our earthly mothers, who chose life for us.
(4) And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me ? (Matthew 27:46)
Jesus experiences a moment of separation from God, His Father, because of the sins he took upon Himself for us. An unborn child, whose life is snuffed out by abortion, is not abandoned by God, but by those whom God has placed in its care. Let us pray that our society recognizes the poorest of the poor, the unborn, who are the most helpless and the most abandoned.
(5) After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst (John 19:28).
Jesus was thirsting for the salvation of souls. Let us pray, Lord you thirst for the life of each child conceived, to be born into this world, so that they may know You, love You and serve You. Give us a thirst to actively work in the pro-life movement, to help mothers in need, and offer healing for those wounded by this sin. May we see that life is the right of every child, not a special privilege for the planned, the fortunate and the perfect.
Seven last words of Jesus (with 3d words)
(6) When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished ! and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost. (John 19:30).
Jesus last words meant that His suffering was finished, He had paid the sin debt in full it was done, accomplished, fulfilled. When the abortion is completed and the child exists no longer within the life womb that was supposed to protect and nurture it, the Mother cries It is finished. But the pain, guilt and regret of abortion is never finished, it remains with the Mother a lifetime. Let us pray, for an end to this curse of abortion, so we may become a People of Life!!
(7) And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit : and having said thus, he gave up the ghost (Luke 23:46).
Jesus offers His Spirit to the Father and He accepts the sacrifice. Let us pray that all may appreciate the sacrifices of Motherhood as a precious gift given by a Loving God.
The Devil and Daniel Webster” is a short story by Stephen Vincent Benet. In it, Jabez Stone, a New England farmer, has such “bad luck” that he sells his soul to the devil to become prosperous. Eventually, the devil comes to collect Jabez’s debt. But the eminent lawyer Daniel Webster is called in to defend him. Through a skillful series of arguments, Webster wins the case against the devil, and Jabez is saved from perdition.
Of course, this tale is only fiction. But the Bible records a vision in which Satan accuses a believer before the Divine Judge. Joshua, a high priest, stands before God. As a picture of his personal sin and guilt, the priest is dressed in filthy clothing. Nearby, Satan accuses Joshua. But the Angel of the Lord rebukes him and says to Joshua: “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes” (Zech. 3:4).
Only God can make a sinner acceptable to Him. And the New Testament tells us how: “If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1).
Do you feel unworthy to enter the presence of God? Remember, as Christians, our Savior’s blood has cleansed us, and Christ Himself represents us.

New International Version (NIV)
6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. 9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Lyrics to Stronger :
Title : The Man of Encouragement (Barnabas)
Acts 11:19-26
New International Version (NIV)
The Church in Antioch (ACTS 11)
19 Now those who had been scattered by the persecution that broke out when Stephen was killed traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch, spreading the word only among Jews. 20 Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus. 21 The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.
22 News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. 23 When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. 24 He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.
25 Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, 26 and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.
The Believers Share Their Possessions (ACTS 4)
32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.
36 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”), 37 sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.
Saul in Damascus and Jerusalem (ACTS 9)
Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus. 20 At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God. 21 All those who heard him were astonished and asked, “Isn’t he the man who raised havoc(대황폐, 대파괴) in Jerusalem among those who call on this name? And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?” 22 Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled(frustrated) the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah.
23 After many days had gone by, there was a conspiracy among the Jews to kill him, 24 but Saul learned of their plan. Day and night they kept close watch on the city gates in order to kill him. 25 But his followers took him by night and lowered
him in a basket through an opening in the wall.
26 When he came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus. 28 So Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord. 29 He talked and debated with the Hellenistic Jews,[a] but they tried to kill him. 30 When the believers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.
31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.
